Meeting scheduled to discuss future of Hoan Bridge



MILWAUKEE -- There is a public meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 25th to discuss the future of the Hoan Bridge.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will share its preliminary design and construction plans.

The work will include replacing the existing bridge deck, making structural modifications, and repainting the bridge steel. Also, the lake interchange -- the junction of 794 from Milwaukee River to the Hoan Bridge will need concrete overlays and surface repairs. Construction is slated to start in fall of 2013.

The reconstruction project is expected to cost between $275 to $350 million dollars.

The public meeting is Wednesday, April 25th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the DOT Milwaukee offices, located at 1001 West St. Paul Avenue.

Experts will be on hand to answer questions.
