Mayors place friendly bet on football game

WITI-TV, GREEN BAY -- The mayors of Green Bay and New York have placed a friendly wager on Sunday's game pitting the Packers against the Giants. The game will be played at Lambeau Field -- and seen only on FOX6.
Mayor Jim Schmitt of Green Bay is tossing from Green Bay cheese curds and Sno-Cap Root Beer into the mix. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is wagering some New York cheesecake and Victor Cruz salsa.

Mayor Schmitt remarks, “The Lambeau Leap will always trump a touchdown salsa dance! We have the best team in the NFL and I look forward to another win.”

Mayor Bloomberg responds: “The Giants are playing best when it matters most, and I know they’re going to keep it up on Sunday. I have a feeling that Victor Cruz will be dancing in the end zone and the Giants will be putting the Packers’ Super Bowl dreams to rest just like they did four years ago. And our salsa and cheesecake will be staying right here in Brooklyn.”

A Packers Pep Rally will be held Friday at 3 p.m. on the Brown County Courthouse lawn (300 block of E. Walnut). Everyone's invited to attend.
