Marijuana…in the mail? Racine man busted with $20,000 worth of pot

RACINE -- Agents from the Racine County Metro Drug Unit on Tuesday, June 2nd served a search warrant and arrested one suspect for possession of marijuana, keeper of a drug place and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The investigation and subsequent search of the residence revealed that the suspect was using a shipping company to have marijuana sent to him from California. Metro Drug Unit Agents are learning that the practice of having marijuana shipped to the area from states that have legalized marijuana law is becoming more  prevalent.

During the search of the residence, Metro Agents located approximately four pounds of marijuana, drug packaging paraphernalia, a scale and U.S. currency.  The street value of this high grade marijuana is approximately $20,000.

The suspect, Ricardo Garcia-Vasquez, age 25, was arrested and is being held at the Racine County Jail on charges of Possession of Marijuana (THC) with intent to deliver, keeper of a drug place , possession of drug paraphernalia.
