Man struck by train in Oshkosh Monday afternoon

OSHKOSH (WITI) -- Oshkosh police say a man was killed after he was struck by a train on Monday afternoon, June 24th.

It happened near E. Custer Ave. and Broad Street.

Police say the man was found dead upon arrival of officials to the scene.

Police say it is unclear why the man was on the train tracks -- and have yet to release the man's name or age.

The train intersections of E. New York Ave, E. Nevada Ave. and E. Murdock Ave were closed for an indefinite period of time as the investigation continued.

All train intersections to the south of E. New York Ave. were open.
