Man shot, wounded in standoff with West Allis police
WEST ALLIS (WITI) -- A man was shot and wounded during a standoff with police in West Allis early Saturday morning, June 8th.
Police were called to a home to investigate a domestic disturbance near 70th and Mitchell just after 1 a.m. Saturday. When they arrived on the scene, officers found a man was inside the home and would not come out to speak.
Officers later learned a firearm may have been involved in the domestic situation. So officers secured the neighborhood around the home.
While talking with the man in the home, shots were fired and the man suffered some wounds. Eventually he came out of the building, was taken into custody and taken to a hospital to treat his wounds.
Members of the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office and West Allis Police Department detective bureau are currently investigating this situation. No officers were hurt.
