Man shot, injured near S. 19th & W. Hayes following dispute

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Officers were called to the scene of shots fired near the intersection of S. 19th and West Hayes Streets in the Lincoln Village Neighborhood on the city's south side Tuesday night, July 2nd.

When officials arrived on the scene, they located a man with a gunshot wound to his lower extremities.

He was conveyed to a local hospital for treatment, where he is expected to be treated and released.

According to police, the shooting appears to be the result of a dispute among known individuals, and was not a random act.

The investigation, which was conducted jointly by detectives assigned to the South Investigations Division and police officers assigned to the Second Police District, is continuing at this time.
