Man pulled from Milwaukee River on Sunday has died

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — The man pulled from the Milwaukee River Sunday, June 16th has died, according to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office.

Milwaukee Fire officials responded to a call of three people in the water near Wisconsin Avenue on Sunday afternoon, June 16th.

It happened just before 3:00 p.m.

Officials say two people were able to get out of the water safely — and a third person was pulled from the water.

That man was identified as Huseyin Barboff.

The Medical Examiner's Office says the 49-year-old's blood alcohol level was more than four times the legal limit -- at .35.

FOX6 News is told the man was drinking on the banks of the river near the Wisconsin Avenue Bridge, when he decided to jump in.

He swam for awhile, and then began to struggle.

Rescue crews got him to the hospital -- but he died at Froedtert early Monday morning.
