Man ejected from vehicle after Walworth Co. crash

TOWN OF SHARON -- Walworth County Sheriff's deputies and Flight for Life responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 14, south of County Highway K in the Town of Sharon Tuesday just before 5:00 p.m.

39-year-old Hilarion Huerta of Darien was ejected from the driver's seat of a 1997 BMW. Officials say he was not wearing his seatbelt. Huerta was taken via Flight for Life to a Rockford, Illinois-area hospital, and his condition is unknown.

Officials say their preliminary investigation indicates Huerta was the sole occupant of the BMW, and was traveling southbound on Highway 14 when he lost control of his vehicle as it entered a patch of snow-covered road. Huerta then entered the northbound lane, where his vehicle collided with a 2009 Chevy Silverado pulling a tandem-axle enclosed trailer, driven by 52-year-old Randall Kopp of Eau Claire.

Officials say their investigation is ongoing.
