Man cited for disorderly conduct after lockdown at Carroll University

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- 50-year-old Michael Wiedemann of Waukesha was cited for disorderly conduct after carrying an Airsoft gun though Carroll University Tuesday, April 16th. Wiedemann was released from custody Tuesday night.

The Carroll University campus was put on lockdown for about two hours on Tuesday, April 16th after a report of an armed male on campus was called into the school.

Waukesha Police Department Captain Ron Oremus says Wiedemann was later taken into custody and an Airsoft-style gun was recovered. An Airsoft gun is a non-lethal weapon, however, according to Capt. Oremus, it can look identical to a real firearm.

According to police, Wiedemann found the Airsoft gun in the garbage while walking to his residence.

Wiedemann's municipal citation is $303.
