Little Switzerland welcomes skiers with fresh, natural powder

SLINGER -- The snow, the real stuff,  has come back to Little Switzerland in Slinger. 

Mike Schmitz and his family are the ones responsible for resurrecting the double-sided ski hill commonly called "Little Switz."

The slopes at Little Switzerland closed down in March 2007 after 65 seasons under the founding familiy. Five-and-a-half years later, the winter's first big storm is bringing the snow seekers back.

"We hear stories everyday of people coming in that grew up here, learned to ski here. The locals are happy that we're open again and the community support's just been really positive so far," said Schmitz.

Every downhill speed chaser FOX6's Chip Brewster spoke to on Friday, December 21st said they were making their first runs of the season.

Little Switzerland will be running holiday hours for the next two weeks.
