MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A group of women kicked off their holiday toy drive on Wednesday morning, November 20th.
Shielded Hearts launched their annual "RoundUp" drive for kids in need this holiday season.
The group is made up of women who are married to or in a long-term relationship with a man in law enforcement.
The group is collecting new toys and stuffed animals for children that are in the foster care system, or who have been affected by unfortunate situations.
"A toy can just bring comfort. It's something a child can call their own. It gives them peace and it's just nice for them to know that somebody has cared for them, to give them something," Shielded Hearts Executive Director Teresa Robinson said.
In the past three years, the group has collected more than 10,000 items.
