Last living 9/11 rescue dog celebrates her sweet sixteen with a dream day

NEW YORK -- Meet Bretagne: she's the last living search and rescue dog who worked at Ground Zero. Bretagne was about to celebrate her 16th birthday when BarkBox stepped in to give her a "Dog's Best Day."

According to the YouTube description, Bretagne and her owner Denise Corliss, were members of the Texas Task Force -- their first deployment was to find and save people trapped in the rubble of the World Trade Center after 9/11.

To honor Bertagne and Denise's service, and celebrate Bretagne's 16th birthday, BarkBox planned a fun-filled, dog-friendly day. Complete with dozens of new sights, smells, treats and toys for Bretagne.

Bretagne was also given an official "bone to the dog park" -- symbolizing the dog-version of a 'key to the city.'

The day trip was all thanks to retailer BarkBox as part of their Dog's Best Day series.
