Lake Express Ferry kicks off 10th season with special promotions

MILWAUKEE (WITI) --The Lake Express Ferry has launched its 10th year of service with special promotions for passengers with motorcycles or children.

With the launch of its season, Lake Express is implementing its popular “motorcycles ride free” deal, offering free one-way and roundtrip tickets to bikers through May 31st and free roundtrip tickets in the month of June. The “motorcycles ride free” deal will also return in the fall from Sept. 5th through Oct. 27th.

Parents can also plan low-cost family summer vacations with a “kids ride free” deal from June 15th through Sept. 2nd, that offers free tickets for children under age 17 on family roundtrips.

“We’re excited to celebrate our 10th year in operation with these special promotions,” said Ken Szallai, president of Lake Express. “We anticipate another great season as the only high-speed, environmentally friendly ferry service on the Great Lakes, and look forward to serving Midwest travelers.”

The high-speed ferry will provide service between Milwaukee and Muskegon, Mich. with four daily trips through the end of June and six daily trips from July through August. Service continues in September and October with four daily trips. With multiple daily voyages each totaling two and one half hours, riders often choose the ferry as a convenient alternative for avoiding congested Chicago traffic, and reducing travel time between Michigan and Wisconsin.

Lake Express tickets can be purchased using the ferry’s online reservation system at www.lake-express.com. The site also permits users to alter reservations if necessary.
