Kollath sentenced to two years probation on drug charge

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A Milwaukee County judge sentenced Ashley Kollath on Friday, February 15th to two years probation.

Kollath pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of narcotic drugs in last month.

Kollath was charged after an incident at Milwaukee’s Mitchell International Airport in March 2012.

According to the criminal complaint in the case, a caller reported a man unconscious in need of medical attention in a parked car at the airport. That man was Mark Berzill. The complaint indicates Berzill just returned from vacation and injected heroin that was brought to him by Kollath. Inside the car, there was also a child.

Sheriff’s deputies searched the car Berzill and Kollath were in. There were several needles in the center console and other heroin-use paraphernalia scattered throughout the car. Kollath told deputies she brought the heroin for Berzill but also intended to shoot up with it.

If Kollath violates her probation, she will have to serve 12 months in the House of Correction.
