"Kind of a large bang:" 3 vehicles set on fire in driveway of Milwaukee MMA star

MILWAUKEE -- Anthony "Showtime" Pettis, a Milwaukee star of mixed martial arts (MMA), found fire consuming three vehicles just outside of his home early Thursday, October 27th.

"I saw a car speeding through the neighborhood," said Carson Blaszak, a witness to the fire.

After the car caught his attention, Blaszak caught something else on camera.

"Right around the same time as that happened, there was kind of a large bang," Blaszak said. "It was three cars caught on fire. I just, I ran outside, and I was hoping, you know, the house hopefully wasn't gonna catch on fire."

It was around 1:00 a.m. Thursday when Blaszak recorded the images outside of Pettis's home.

"As he's screaming that the house is on fire. Of course, you jump outta bed and you can't believe your eyes to see what you're, you know, that it's real," said Bunny Blaszak, a witness to the fire.

Milwaukee police believe an unknown suspect used an accelerant to ignite two of the vehicles which forced flames to spread to a third vehicle sitting in Pettis' driveway.

Bunny Blaszak calls Pettis a good neighbor.

"Very friendly. See him running around, jogging around," Bunny Blaszak said.

While Pettis' wheels may be down for the count, Carson Blaszak considered what could have been.

"Luckily, the police department and fire department were able to get here very quickly and took care of it and everyone was safe," said Carson Blaszak.

One of Pettis' brothers told FOX6 News Anthony is trying to process what has happened -- and is holding off on doing any interviews.

Meanwhile, Milwaukee police ask anyone with information pertaining to this investigation to contact them at 414-935-7360.
