Kettle Moraine High School to reopen Friday after threat

WALES (WITI) -- Kettle Moraine High School in Wales will reopen on Friday, January 18th after school was cancelled Thursday due to a threat.

School officials said Wednesday evening, January 16th, a search of Kettle Moraine High School conducted by the Milwaukee and Waukesha County Sheriff’s Departments yielded no evidence of a threat to the safety of students and since that time, the building has been secured. 

Officials say this is an ongoing investigation and the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department will update our community as information becomes available. 

School will reopen to students and staff tomorrow, Friday, January 18th.

A Kettle Moraine school official sent the following memo to parents:  

I assure you that the safety of our students at Kettle Moraine High School remains a top priority, not just on days like today, but each and every day. 

The disruption on January 17, 2013 will not impact your child’s ability to successfully complete their 1st semester classes.  Students are encouraged to speak with their individual teachers should they have any questions or concerns on how to end the semester on a positive note. 

Thank you again for your cooperation and understanding, and we look forward to our students returning to Kettle Moraine High School Friday.

Due to school being cancelled on Thursday, January 17, 2013, the exams originally scheduled for Thursday will be added to Friday’s exam schedule.
