Keeping spirits high: "Weed Fairy" posts fliers with free marijuana in Seattle

SEATTLE (WITI) -- Washington became one of the first states to legalize marijuana for recreational use in 2012. One woman in Seattle wants to keep folks' spirits high -- by giving them free weed!

She's known as "The Weed Fairy." Her fliers include the Twitter name Danksy Appleweed -- and also, a nugget of pot.

The fliers are being posted on Capitol Hill, according to FOX6's sister station, Q13FOX in Seattle.

The woman behind the fliers says she just wants to give people a gift, in these tough times.

"I think people are a little worried, because this is something new and suspicious. But it's real weed -- and it's not dangerous. It will get you high," "The Weed Fairy" said.

Q13FOX says "The Weed Fairy" is from California -- and was in Seattle just for a few weeks.

She says she did a similar thing in New York -- and says the positive feedback keeps her going.
