Katherine Ann Gorman chosen Miss Wisconsin 2012

OSHKOSH (AP) -- 23-year-old Katherine Ann Gorman of Onalaska has captured the Miss Wisconsin 2012 crown.

The Miss Wisconsin Pageant said Gorman, who entered as Miss La Crosse/Oktoberfest, bested 22 other women for the title at Oshkosh West High School's Civil Auditorium. She was crowned Saturday night, June 16th by Miss Wisconsin 2011, Raeanna Mary Johnson of Holmen.

Gorman is a 2012 elementary art education graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

First through fourth runners-up were, respectively: Kathryn Marie Williams, 23, of Wisconsin Rapids; Elizabeth Anne Kramer, 22, of Holmen; Raquel Faye Bruening, 20, of New Berlin and 24-year-old Desiree Sue Geffers, 24, of Oshkosh.

Sixteen-year-old Madeline Morgan, a classical pianist from Oregon, was named Miss Wisconsin Outstanding Teen 2012.

This was the 50th year anniversary of the state pageant being held in Oshkosh.
