Investigation underway into Craigslist ad for unborn baby: "Willing to trade it for $ or drugs"

GEORGIA -- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into an advertisement on Craigslist that apparently offers a "guaranteed white" baby in exchange for drugs or cash.

Could the ad be a hoax?

WSB-TV reports authorities have received more than 100 calls about the ad.

The ad appears to have been written by a pregnant woman, and reads:

"Six months pregnant, don't want it. Willing to trade it for $ or drugs. Guaranteed white, so don't come at me cheap. Serious offers only."



The post caught the attention of various law enforcement agencies, and now, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into it.

"We have gotten a lot of tips. We've gotten tips from various sources and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. We are not sure whether or not it's a hoax, but it's a definite possibility," GBI spokeswoman Sherry Lang told WSB-TV.
