In celebration of life-saving cat partnership, HAWS, Elmbrook Humane Society announce adoption special

WAUKESHA -- To celebrate their life-saving cat partnership, HAWS (the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County) and Elmbrook Humane Society (EBHS) have announced a two-shelter cat adoption special for the entire month of June.

All cats over six months of age at both EBHS and HAWS are part of a “Name Your Price” adoption fee promotion in June.

Cats adopted from either shelter have been spayed or neutered prior to adoption; microchip identification, basic vaccinations, wellness exams, and other select services are also included.

Also in honor of June’s designation as Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month, HAWS will be hosting the annual Kitten Shower on Saturday, June 27th, featuring additional specials, give-aways and a showcase of HAWS’ Kitty College training program.

This spring, the two shelters announced their partnership, with the goal of making Waukesha County one of Wisconsin’s first No Kill communities. By working together, EBHS and HAWS are more likely to overcome the obstacles presented by rampant outdoor cat breeding and cat overpopulation in the community.

EBHS and HAWS ask for continued community support to ensure the success of their partnership, including monetary donations, foster homes, and supplies such as kitten formula, cat/kitten food and litter.

Donations can be made on either of the shelters’ websites, by phone or in person.

Those in need of spay/neuter services for their outdoor cats should contact HAWS about Project Guardian.
