Illinois-based hospitality group recognizes Hilton Garden Inn

ROSEMONT (WITI) — Rosemont, Ill.-based First Hospitality Group, Inc. (FHG), announced Tuesday, June 4th that it has been honored with five local and regional awards for the renovation/design of its Hilton Garden Inn Milwaukee Downtown property. FHG is being recognized for its exemplary conversion of a historic landmark, the former Loyalty Building, into a vibrant, modern 127-room hotel. First Hospitality Group, Inc. President and COO Robert Habeeb made the announcement.

The Milwaukee Business Journal named the Hilton Garden Inn Milwaukee the Best New Development in Hospitality in its 2012 real estate awards; earning FHG accolades from the Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker who said “ played a critical role in building dreams for the community/businesses of Wisconsin.”Other awards given to FHG for this hotel include:

The Hilton Garden Inn Milwaukee Downtown hotel opened in November 2012 after a nearly one-year transformation from The Loyalty Building, one of the city’s architectural treasures and an original headquarters of Northwestern Mutual Life circa 1886. The bank vault doors, wood paneling and trip, tile flooring, ornamental plaster ceilings, marble and bronze staircase and skylight were all artfully preserved.

The hotel features a 24-hour fitness and business center, complimentary high-speed Internet and 4,500 square feet of meeting and event space. The hotel also offers dining options for breakfast, lunch and dinner at The Garden Grille and Bar™, which provides guests with fine dining in a casual, friendly and comfortable setting. There is also a 24-hour Pavilion Pantry convenience mart, which offers last minute sundries, an assortment of beverages, ready-to-cook meals, fresh salads and sandwiches.
