I-43 south of Green Bay closed for two hours due to icy conditions

GREEN BAY -- Authorities closed Interstate 43 in both directions south of Green Bay for over two hours after light rain turned to ice and made travel dangerous.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says multiple crashes were reported in both directions about 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The freeway reopened just after 5 p.m.

The Green Bay Press Gazette reports (http://gbpg.net/AstyeH) there was a nine-vehicle accident on I-43 near Langes Corners Brown County in which at least one person was seriously injured. That accident happened about 2:30 p.m.

A winter weather advisory for freezing drizzle has been expanded to include nearly all of Wisconsin.
