Family of five safely evacuated from home after fire breaks out
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee Fire officials say crews battled a blaze Monday morning, April 28th at a home on W. Walnut Street.
It started around 2 a.m. at a 2.5-story home near 32nd and Walnut.
According to officials, two adults and three children were home when the fire broke out. Authorities say all five individuals evacuated the home safely.
No one was injured.
Fire officials say the home did not have any working smoke detectors inside at the time of the fire.
The fire caused an estimated $30,000 in damage.
The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation.
