WALWORTH COUNTY -- Walworth County hosted for the first time the Dairy State's annual Farm Technology Days -- July 19th through the 21st. Organizers said they managed to draw considerable crowds despite this week's weather worries.

There was no way Vera Juhlin was missing the event.
"I grew up on a farm, so I wanted to come and see what new farm equipment was like," Juhlin said.
But concerns over the weather jeopardized Juhlin's trip.
"We were watching it every day -- and we were nervous. But we thought, if we came out and maybe, left by noon, we'd be OK," Juhlin said.

That was a sound strategy, but one which proved unnecessary.

"We had a little breeze and it was gorgeous, so we're still here," Juhlin said Thursday afternoon.
The forecasts only give Wisconsin Farm Technology Days Chair Jim Stowell a few weeks to work out the weather.
"It's a lot hotter than we were hoping for," Stowell said.
Hot enough to send about a dozen visitors to the show's cooling area to escape the heat.
"We think we've dealt with it pretty well. We had extra water here. We had extra ice here. We have extra EMS staff are stationed here. We have an ambulance on-site. So we were ready for it," Stowell said.
