Homestead High School students sentenced in sexual assault case

OZAUKEE CO. -- A judge sentenced two Homestead High School students accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl on Thursday, November 1st. 18-year-old Deangelo Dantzler and Brent Anderson pleaded not guilty in September to second-degree sexual assault charges.

In court on Thursday, Anderson pleaded down to physical abuse of a child. He was ordered to serve 30 days in the Ozaukee County Jail and will begin serving that sentence on December 21st. Anderson was also sentenced to two years of probation and 200 hours of community service.

Dantzler was sentenced to the same.

All three involved in this case (Anderson, Dantzler and the victim) say they were drinking at the time of the incident, and the sex was consensual. However, a 14-year-old cannot legally give consent to sex.
