Holiday season is officially underway in Milwaukee, it's also the season of giving

The holiday season kicked off on Saturday morning with the 85th Annual Holiday Parade- broadcasted live here on FOX6!

The sights and the sounds definitely put people in a jolly mood, and other people are depending on that holiday spirit to get them through these next few months.

This year, more than ever, the Hunger Task Force needs YOUR help putting food on the table for those in need.

Sherrie Tussler with the Hunger Task Force says, "More than half of Milwaukee's poor are children and about 40,000 people are benefiting from the services."

Volunteers were at the parade this year, helping load the donations into the truck. The food gathered isn't just for Thanksgiving and Christmas - but it goes into January and February as well.
