High-end apartments planned at Goll mansion site near lakefront; mansion to be preserved

MILWAUKEE -- Work is underway to build a high-end apartment building on the same property as a historic mansion on Milwaukee's lakefront.

Madison developer Pallisade Property has the Goll mansion at Prospect and Albion under contract for purchase.

The developer plans to work with the city to preserve the mansion.

Plans for the building include moving it toward Prospect Avenue to create more space for a nearly 20-story apartment building.

Residents of a nearby condo opposed a proposal for development on the property more than six years ago.
