Helping the homeless: Repairers of the Breach prepares to open ahead of bitter cold
MILWAUKEE -- Repairers of the Breach, a daytime shelter for Milwaukee’s homeless population, is preparing for the upcoming cold temperatures by opening their Emergency Warming Room to the city’s homeless.
Repairers of the Breach, which typically holds hours of 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. will open its Emergency Warming Room this weekend, with temperatures expected to drop. The room, which is open from 8 p.m. until 7 a.m., is opened when the forecast is expected to be 10 degrees, or the wind chill is -10 degrees.
As one of the only shelters with this Warming Room, Repairers of the Breach is expecting a large crowd as the weather gets colder. To support the Emergency Warming Room, Repairers of the Breach is asking for the following donations:
