Heartwarming homecoming: Watch soldier photobomb son during school picture day

DURHAM, NC (WITI) -- A young boy got the surprise of his when his father, a soldier deployed overseas, showed up during picture day!

According to WTVD, Corporal James Bass, the third grader's dad, had been deployed for months in Kuwait.

While 8-year-old Joshua stepped in front of the camera for his school picture at Pearsontown Magnet Elementary in Durham, North Carolina, Bass was behind him for the perfect photobomb!

WTVD says Bass is home on leave after being deployed for a year.
