Happy ending: Dog that had been missing since July 4th is now back with family

WAUKESHA COUNTY -- The Elmbrook Humane Society reported on a happy reunion between a lost dog and its family.

The dog named Moose apparently went missing around State Fair Park in West Allis on July 4th.

On Monday, August 1st, Moose was reunited with his family after being found in Pewaukee Lake. The people who found the dog took him to the Elmbrook Humane Society a short time later.

Elmbrook officials searched for a microchip on Moose -- which they found. The owners were immediately contacted -- and made aware Moose was safe.

Officials at Elmbrook Humane Society say it is important to have your pets microchipped -- and just as important to keep the information on that microchip up to date. In this family's case, all information about the owners was current. So reaching out the family was as simple as making a phone call.
