Group of teens set sail on six-day trip to Cleveland

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Fourteen teens on Thursday, June 27th embarked on a six-day, approximately 700-mile sailing trip on the Great Lakes from Milwaukee to Cleveland aboard Discovery World's S/V Denis Sullivan.

The teens from the city of Cleveland just wrapped up 12 weeks of sailing training.

This trip will help them put the skills they learned to use.

The group set sail on Thursday morning on a trip that's part of Robert W. Baird's "Project Yess," which serves unprivileged youth.

"I think they're going to have a great learning experience, a great bonding experience and probably experience a once-in-a-lifetime kind of event," Scott Falk with Robert W. Baird & Co. Inc. said.

The group will travel up through Mackinaw, down through Lake Erie and into Cleveland.
