WEST ALLIS (WITI) -- Governor Walker delivered remarks Thursday, August1st at the 2013 Wisconsin State Fair Opening Ceremony in West Allis. The Wisconsin State Fair, which begins August 1st and runs through August 11, is one of Wisconsin’s greatest annual events and attendees have surpassed 900,000 in recent years.
“This 11-day event is one of my favorite times of the year,” Governor Walker said. “From the live music and cream puffs to Saz’s barbecue and everything in between, the Wisconsin State Fair has it all. It doesn’t matter whether you come to the Fair every year or you haven’t been here in ten years. Come on out, have a great time, and celebrate Wisconsin. It’s fun for the whole family.”
The Wisconsin State Fair’s hours are 8 a.m. – 11 p.m. Sunday – Thursday, 8 a.m. – 12 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. on Sunday, August 11th. The Ticket Office is located at 7722 West Greenfield Avenue in West Allis, and it is open Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m..
