Get into the holiday spirit! Hop aboard the "Jingle Bus" and tour Milwaukee's holiday sights for $1!

MILWAUKEE (WITI) – Enjoy the magic of the holiday season with the 16th Annual Milwaukee Holiday Light Festival Jingle Bus – an inexpensive, no-fuss way to view the beautiful scenes and whimsical light displays of downtown Milwaukee.

Now through December 28th, excluding December 25th, holiday goers can take a 40-minute tour on the Jingle Bus, Thursdays through Sundays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., starting at the Festival’s Warming House at The Shops of Grand Avenue – 275 W. Wisconsin Ave.

While on board, riders learn about key downtown landmarks, places of interest and three decorated Milwaukee County parks – Cathedral Square Park, Pere Marquette Park and Zeidler Union Square, with fun facts and stories narrated by a Milwaukee Downtown Public Service Ambassador, for only $1 per person.

Each of the adorned parks celebrates a different festive theme. For the 11th year in a row, Cathedral Square Park hosts “Community Spirit Park,” a collaborative effort displaying handmade ornaments by local students from over 60 metro Milwaukee schools, which embellish fresh-cut evergreens – each tree touting its own theme. In addition, this year, Pere Marquette Park, located at West State and Old World Third streets, hosts “Candy Cottage Forest,” and Zeidler Union Square, located at West Michigan between 3rd and 4th streets, celebrates winter fun with “Frosty Frolics.”

“Downtown Milwaukee has so much to offer during the holiday season,” said Beth Weirick, CEO of Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21. “For guests unfamiliar with the city, the Jingle Bus is the easiest way to soak in all the sights, and learn more about our fabulous downtown.”

At the Warming House, awaiting Jingle Bus riders enjoy an 18-piece animatronic symphony orchestra of bears, as well as hot cocoa and cookies compliments of Wild Flour Bakery. Kids also receive a holiday coloring book, and discounted parking is available in The Shops of Grand Avenue’s attached structure at a rate of $3 until 10 p.m. with a Jingle Bus validation sticker.
