Generac expects to hire up to 400 new workers in Wisconsin plants

Generac is expected to hire between 300 and 400 new workers in the coming weeks. That announcement will become official Monday morning when Gov. Scott Walker visits the Generac facility in Whitewater.

The new hires will reportedly be mostly engineers and technicians for Generac's plants in Waukesha, Whitewater and Eagle.

In a statement released late Monday morning, Gov. Walker said, "I want to thank Generac for their commitment to Wisconsin and for growing their business here. They will hire hundreds of new workers in family-supporting jobs in both engineering and manufacturing.  This is great news for Wisconsin families.”

Generac must fill many of the jobs in the next ninety days. So the company is planning to hold a job fair on Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Waukesha headquarters. It's located at S45 W29290 Hwy. 59. The job fair will be an opportunity for prospective employees to talk with engineers and hiring managers about Generac’s career opportunities.

Positions range from entry level to management and include engineers, designers, technicians and more. All positions include a comprehensive benefits program.

Generac has also partnered with another company, Magnum. It will hire an additional 50 to 60 people at its facility in Berlin, WI.
