Four students hospitalized after eating drug-laced gummy candies

PINELLAS COUNTY, Florida – Four Florida students were rushed to the hospital after eating drug-laced candy, Pinellas school district officials confirmed Monday, April 11th.

A student at Boca Ciega High School in St. Petersburg brought a bag of gummy candies to class and passed them around, according to WFLA.

At least seven students ate the candies. Four were taken to nearby All Children's Hospital as a precaution.

What drug the candy might have been laced with has not been released.

School officials and the Gulfport Police Department are investigating.
