Firefighters called out to apartment building on Olive Street in Williams Bay

WILLIAMS BAY -- Williams Bay fire officials were on the scene of a fire at an apartment building on Saturday evening, January 2nd.

It happened just after 7:00 p.m. at an apartment building on Olive Street.

Upon arrival of officials, it was observed there was smoke coming from the basement window located on the southeast corner of the apartment building.

Some of the residents were standing outside in front of the building.

Officials learned one tenant was still inside. That tenant was able to escape the unit through the balcony, and then climb down to the ground using a ladder provided by fire officials.

It was determined by officials the fire was coming from the basement, and extending upward.

The fire was extinguished -- and no injuries were reported.
