Fire officials investigate cause of fire that occurred at vacant home in Town of Burlington

TOWN OF BURLINGTON (WITI) -- Fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire that occurred at a vacant home in the Town of Burlington on Sunday afternoon, May 24th.

Just after noon, the Racine County Communications Center received a call of a mobile home on fire at 174 Waters Edge Circle in the Town of Burlington.  The caller reported seeing smoke and flames coming from the home.

Racine County Sheriff's deputies arrived on scene finding heavy smoke and flames. Neighbors reported to the deputies that the home had been vacant for some time.

Fire personnel arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire.  It was confirmed that there were no occupants in the home.

The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation by the Racine County Sheriff's Office and the Racine County Fire Investigation Task Force.
