Fire displaces residents in Cedarburg: 16 apartment units evacuated in the middle of the night
CEDARBURG (WITI) -- An overnight fire on Friday, June 27th at an apartment complex in Cedarburg displaced several residents.
The Cedarburg Fire Department says that an apartment complex at Alice and Washington caught fire. The building had to be evacuated in the middle of the night.
16 apartment units in total were evacuated.
The fire department says the residents should be permitted back into their homes, eventually.
One woman residing in the complex suffered a panic attack, and was taken to a local hospital. No one suffered injuries from the fire.
The cause of the fire has not been determined. The cost and extent of damage is also not yet known.
