Fire crews battle mutual aid fire near Highland, Granville in Mequon

MEQUON -- North Shore Fire officials responded to the scene of a mutual aid fire near Highland and Granville in Mequon on Thursday night, October 18th.

Fire personnel say the fire broke out around 10:15 p.m. on the first and second floors of the home. 

When officers arrived on the scene, they heard screams for help coming from the rear of the home. One of two women located exited the building from a second-story window. The two women said there were two other individuals inside the home.

Officers entered the burning and smoke-filled home and immediately located the two people reported inside. The officers carried one woman from the home. A friend of the homeowner helped the second person get out.

All four occupants were transported to Columbia St. Mary's Hospital -- their condition is unknown.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
