Fatal rush-hour crash: 51-year-old Milwaukee man killed in Mequon

MEQUON (WITI) -- Mequon police say a Milwaukee man was killed in a two-vehicle crash that occurred in Mequon on Monday evening, August 11th.

It happened just before 5:00 p.m. in the 10100 block of N. Cedarburg Road.

Mequon police say upon their arrival at the scene, they discovered, and a witness confirmed that a northbound vehicle crossed the center line and struck a southbound vehicle head-on.

Mequon Fire and Rescue squads responded to the scene -- and took the driver of the southbound vehicle -- a 29-year-old Milwaukee woman, to the hospital.

The driver of the northbound vehicle -- a 51-year-old Milwaukee man was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as Jonathan Thomas.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office has determined Thomas died as a result of blunt force injuries sustained in the crash.

Police say alcohol doesn't appear to be a factor in this crash.
