Estimated $2.5M in damage after home catches fire in Germantown
GERMANTOWN -- Multiple fire departments were called out to a home on Lovers Lane in Germantown on Saturday evening, September 26th for a fire that caused $2.25 million in damage.
It happened around 7:00 p.m. at a home on Lovers Lane near Wasaukee Road.
Fire officials were notified of the blaze via a burglar alarm in the home.
Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters observed an active fire within the lower level of the home. The lower level was fully engulfed in flames.
Assisting Germantown FD at the scene were the following departments: Mequon FD, Thiensville FD, West Bend FD, Menomonee Falls FD, Jackson FD, Richfield FD, Hartford FD, Grafton FD, Slinger FD, Lisbon FD, Allenton FD and Wauwatosa FD.
We're told multiple water tender trucks were requested due to a lack of hydrants in the area.
The fire was brought under control within about an hour.
The cause of the fire is under investigation -- but Germantown fire officials say they don't believe it's suspicious.
In addition to the $2.25 million in estimated property damage, officials say the entire home suffered fire, smoke and water damage.
Two firefighters were treated for minor injuries and released. No one was in the home at the time of the fire.
