Equipment failure in vehicle driven by 70-year-old woman leads to crash near 60th & Layton

GREENFIELD -- Crews were on the scene of a crash that occurred near S. 60th Street and Layton Avenue in Greenfield on Thursday evening, July 2nd.

It happened around 7:00 p.m.

Police say a 70-year-old woman was headed southbound on 60th Street when there was some sort of equipment failure in her vehicle.

Her vehicle then left the roadway -- driving onto a grass terrace and sidewalk. The vehicle then struck another vehicle driven by a 55-year-old man, a small tree and a pole.

No one was seriously injured -- but the 70-year-old woman and 55-year-old man, who were the sole occupants of their respective vehicles, were taken to the hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
