Egg farmers donate truckloads of eggs to Feeding America

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- United Egg Producers and Feeding America teamed up in the fight against hunger on Wednesday morning, March 20th.

Local egg farmers across America donated truckloads of much-needed protein to local food banks just in time for Easter.

S&R Egg Farm, located in Whitewater, is donating more than 400 cases of eggs to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.

"It couldn't come at a better time. It's such a high protein item. You can use it for breakfast, lunch or dinner, easy to prepare and we've seen the need so great this winter," Bonnie Bellehumer with Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin said.

Egg farmers nationwide will be donating nearly nine million eggs to help make sure America’s food banks are well-stocked with nutrient dense eggs.
