Madison police say that the immediate area where the shooting took place at the East Towne Mall will be cordoned off for awhile because of the investigation.
A 19-year-old man was shot in the leg during a dispute that turned violent inside the mall Saturday.
Witnesses tell police that seve
ral young men were involved in the disturbance in the middle of the mall Saturday. One pulled out a handgun and fired at least one round.
Holiday shoppers scurried for cover when a shot was fired. The shooting happened on one of the busiest shopping days before Christmas.
According to a statement posted on its website, Madison police said they were still looking for a suspect.
Joel DeSpain, Madison police spokesman said: "This is not an active shooter. This is not an act of terrorism. My understanding is it was a chaotic scene."
