Early morning fire damages building near 37th & Hopkins in Milwaukee, no injuries reported
MILWAUKEE -- Firefighters on Tuesday morning, July 5th were called out to the scene of a structure fire near 37th and Hopkins in Milwaukee. The call came in around 4:30 a.m.
When crews arrived on scene, they encountered heavy fire on the first floor of a commercial structure.
A precautionary second-alarm was called after it was determined that the fire was spreading into a building that shared a common wall. That building was a 2.5-story structure with commercial space on the bottom and residential space on the second floor.
The fire caused an estimated $150,000 in damage to the building.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation.
