Duggar family joins Rick Santorum on campaign trail in WI

FOX VALLEY -- A famous family joined GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum on the campaign trail in the Fox Valley Monday, on the eve of Wisconsin's presidential primary. The Duggar family - reality TV stars joined Santorum to lend support. FOX6 News spoke with Duggar dad, Jim Bob, to discuss why his family has faith in the Pennsylvania senator.

“We have Jinger.  We also have Josiah, Joy-Anna, Jeremiah, Jedidiah,” Jim Bob Duggar said. The Duggars have 19 children, and are featured on the TLC reality show “19 Kids and Counting." Monday, Jim Bob Duggar and 12 of his children were in the Badger state, hoping to help Santorum win votes in Tuesday's presidential primary.  Duggar and the kids made the trip from their home in Arkansas to show support for Santorum in the Fox Valley, a key conservative area.

“I really believe that Rick Santorum is somebody that represents the family values that we believe in. He's somebody who banned the bill on partial-birth abortion in America, which is a stark contrast with Mitt Romney, who says he's a conservative," Jim Bob Duggar said.

The Duggars and their bus have traveled to Iowa, Oklahoma, Mississippi and Alabama.  Those are states where Santorum beat GOP frontrunner Mitt Romney, and they're hoping their presence makes the difference in Wisconsin.

“If three or four percent of the people would change their vote to Rick Santorum, he'll win this (Tuesday) night,” Jim Bob Duggar said.

Romney, who received endorsements from Congressman Paul Ryan and Senator Ron Johnson over the weekend, has an eight-point lead over Santorum in the latest Marquette Law School poll.  However, Jim Bob Duggar believes faith and family are on their side and argues the race is far from over.

“We're not even at halftime yet, and just because you're a little behind at halftime, doesn't mean you quit the race.  Rick Santorum has a very good opportunity to win this,” Jim Bob Duggar said.

Santorum and the Duggars do not plan on being in the state of Wisconsin Tuesday during the primary. Santorum is scheduled to campaign in his home state of Wisconsin, and Duggar says his family may head that way as well.
