Dive recovery: Unresponsive woman pulled from river near Old World Third Street

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- It was a frantic scene on Saturday night, July 12th, when a woman was pulled from the river at Old World Third St. and W. State Street around 6:00 p.m.

Officials say they pulled a woman, who was not breathing, out of the water. Emergency personnel  performed CPR and were able to revive her pulse. She was then transported to the hospital.

The woman is believed to be around 40-years-old -- her current condition is unknown.

Officials say there were reports that a second person was believed to be in the water, but a dive recovery did not detect a second distressed swimmer. Dive teams searched the water and sonar boats were also utilized.
