Dining in the Dark: Four-course meal at Bacchus, blindfolded, to raise awareness of blindness
MILWAUKEE -- A different way to dine in Milwaukee on Sunday, November 1st.
An event called "Dining in the Dark" took place Sunday at Milwaukee's Bacchus restaurant.
Dining in the Dark
The event included all the fixings of a fancy candlelight four-course meal, but there was a catch: Everyone was blindfolded!
This event raised awareness for blindness and visual impairment.
"You have an opportunity to see what it's like to walk in the shoes of someone who's visually impaired. The great advantage we have is that we can take the blindfold off, but unfortunately for thousands of people in southeastern Wisconsin, they can't take that blindfold off when they get done with dinner -- so it's an eye-opening experience," Brett Bostrack with Vision Forward said.
