DASH CAM VIDEO: Armed robbery turns into high-speed chase

MENOMONEE FALLS (WITI) -- An armed robbery turns into a high-speed chase in Menomonee Falls. Two of the squad cars involved in the incident caught the whole chase on their dash cameras.

Police speed down residential streets, flying past car after car on 41/45 -- even against traffic at times. All to catch a man who had just robbed the Associated Bank in Menomonee Falls.

The car chase ended in Milwaukee, about 5 miles away when the suspect's vehicle crashed near Fond du Lac and 107th Street. But the pursuit wasn't over yet, the suspect ran, and police took off after him.

That man, is 47-year-old Michael Haynes.

According to the criminal complaint, October 14th Haynes approached a bank teller saying he had a gun and would shoot her if she made any sudden movements.

The complaint continues, saying Haynes asked for all the money in the drawer except for bait money or dye packs. The teller game him what he asked for, fearing for her life.

Police say after Haynes had the money, he took off. A witness saw him get into a black Kia which was spotted at a red light by a near by officer. Once the light turned green, the chase began.

Haynes was arrested not far from where he crashed and taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons. Now, he's staying at the Waukesha County Jail -- being held on a cash bond of $30,000.

Haynes was charged with armed robbery, and fleeing an officer. Police say they also charged him with operating while intoxicated.

Police say they did arrest a second suspect at the scene, but she was not charged.

Police say all the money was recovered, and returned.
