Condo explodes in Fond du Lac, no one injured

FOND DU LAC (WITI) -- A condo exploded in Fond du lac early on Thursday morning, April 11th.

The blast rattled near Twilight Trail and Moonlight Lane in Fond du Lac just before 5 a.m.  While nobody lived there yet, the explosion destroyed two condos; one with some family possessions inside -- the other not yet completed.

The foundation of the building is in shambles. The roof ripped off and the garage doors are bent in half.

Fire crews called to the scene quickly extinguished the fire which resulted from the explosion. A neighbor sustained minor injuries as a result of the blast.

Some nearby residents were evacuated for a short period of time until the area was determined to be safe.

The Fond du Lac Fire Department is trying to determine what triggered the house to explode.
